Amelia Earhart made history as one of the first female pilots in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Born July 24, 1897, Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean 1932, and is known for her daring stunt flying and setting aviation records. Tragically, Amelia Earhart disappeared in 1937 while attempting a solo around-the-world flight.
